He started with the C.R.E.A.M., the almighty Wu-Tang Clan. He was on a lot of hit singles, like ‘4th Chamber’ with Ghostface and GZA. His first solo song was on GZA’s ‘Liquid Swords’ album. He started the Sunz of Man group and then The Four Horsemen, Maccabeez and his solo career. We’re talking about no other than the one and only Killah Priest. Hoodstars.net sat down with The Priest to talk about the new album ‘The Offering’, Timbo King, Godzwrath, the evolution of Wu-Tang and more .... .... ....
“This album is one of my deepest, dopest personal albums to date,” Killah Priest says about his upcoming album. “It’s gonna be straight hip hop. It’s definitely a classic. It’s got all the elements to make it go to the level that I need it to go to. Everybody is always talking about ‘Heavy Mental’, so I get ‘The Offering’ and ‘The Offering’ is something that I owe the game cause I said that I would never do it again.”
“The production is done by my team. I got Godzwrath. I got 4th Disciple on there, Shock Cane, a new cat coming in, Magnetic. Godzwrath is really like the new wave of hip hop. Them dudes is gonna take over. I got guest appearances by no other than my man Nas. He’s on the album. I got Immortal Technique. I got The Four Horsemen, which is Canibus and Ras Kass. Also, I got my fam Maccabeez on there.”
“Right now I don’t even have a label. I just finished the album and I got offers from labels and I’m about to sign. Right now I got my own label without any distribution. The album is done right now and I got offers from three labels.”

“It’s not ‘Heavy Mental’. It’s better,” says Priest, responding to the question if he’s going back to the style of this classic album. “It’s just the style that I possess. I would never go back and make another ‘Heavy Mental’, but what I went through is something that came from me and is something that I can produce again. I have two kids. They are not the same, but they look similar. One kid may be a little stronger in football and one kid may be dope at basketball. This is my best album. I think that ‘Priesthood’ was a great album also. ‘The Offering’ is something I worked for . It’s definitely a classic. It’s all Priest.”
Word on the streets is that Killah Priest and Nas have been talking about doing a project in the future. “We’ve been talking! He got his thing going on right now. I don’t wanna say too much on that. He’s doing his thing, I’m doing my thing. Of course real recognize real and real respect real. We knocked out a couple of things. Right now that’s the word on the streets, so that’s good. We got some things in store! I think hip hop is returning back to where it’s supposed to be and that dudes like Nas is in the forefront of it and then you got cats like me that are king of the underground. Right now I’m about to take this whole nuts over.”
Everybody is always asking "Iron Sheik Kennek" about Wu-Tang and ‘Heavy Mental’ and such, so what did Hoodstars.net do? We asked some different questions about some affiliates. What’s up Timbo King these days? “Timbo King is dope, man! He’s one of the dopest mc’s. He’s gonna come out with all the Maccabeez, everybody’s albums and stuff like that. We gotta get back on my joint to stuff out. We picked up the right thing. He’s all over the Razah’s album, he’s all over the Maccabeez. Then we got stuff together. Yeah, he’s a dope mc. Me and him go way back. I think Timbo is one of the best mc’s that’s [out]. He was the first one to have a deal out of anybody. Timbo is crazy. He’s an ill mc. That’s all I gotta say about that brother. When he gets his nuts, there’s gonna be a lot of mc’s that’s gonna be buried. Let’s put it that way.”
“Godzwrath is my dudes out there. They got a sale that’s incredible. MOD the Black Marvel is incredible. I’ve also done work with Holocaust. We’re gonna put that out there. A lot of cats from Supercharger are on there. That’s gonna be incredible.”
The Wu-Tang went from being a respected crew to a crew that's called 'old skool' by the younger generation. “Evolutions happen. The thing about me is that I am still young and I’m still in it. We heard albums from everybody, but I never got myself in claim. This album you’re gonna hear… I wasn’t out there like that. Now when you hear my album this time all the young dudes, the young generation, I get to chill with them. I last long. I’m still here with the younger generation. I’m here myself. I don’t plan to stay forever, but hip hop is something I’m oughta do. I just wanna get my money, get my bread and put some other cats on. Unfortunately, I’m still here!”
Talking about the Wu, what disc does he like better? ‘Wu-Tang Forever’ disc 1 or ‘Wu-Tang Forever’ disc 2? “Disc one because it starts off with one of my best phrases I like. I was actually doing that song too. ‘Reunited, Double LP, we’re real excited.’”
‘36 Chambers’ or ‘Wu-Tang Forever’? “I think I like the old, ‘36’. That was the beginning and the foundation and ‘Protect Ya Neck’ was on there. I actually like ‘Iron Flag’ out of all of them though. I think it was a grimy time. It was a time everybody was doing what they had to do. Everything was on point. It’s just that we got caught up in the Nas & Jay-Z beef.”

If you had the choice between signing to G-Unit for two million or getting your own label through Wu Music Group with a budget of 2G's. What would you choose? “I’d take the two million from G-Unit. I still do my thing, haha.”
In the past Priest’s name was rumored to be attached to a couple of projects which not only got the Wu heads excited, but hip hop fans in general, but “the only thing right now that is gonna shock the world is gonna be ‘The Offering’. That’s it. Everybody is waiting on that. Right now I got The Four Horsemen. That is gonna be crazy. We got the Maccabeez and Black Market. I got so many groups right now… God Champions with Soul Sis. Right now that is taking all my energy. I just wanna concentrate on ‘The Offering’ and I think I did a pretty good job. I think that the world is ready for that. I just gotta get a home for it and then it can happen.”
We can also expect a Sunz of Man in the future. “I was [in] Sunz of Man myself. That’s gonna be the next nuts. The next project I do. I think the Maccabeez is gonna be a little bit before the Sunz because they pretty much finished that. Then we got Black Market coming too. We got ‘The Heavier Mental’, the Horsemen. I got an album, ‘The Heavier Mental’. I got songs that I’ma put out just to give to the world I never released. I’m the hardest working man. My new name is Work. When you see Priest, you should just say ‘what up Work!’ hahaha. That’s my name cause that’s what I’m putting in.”
Killah Priest did some concerts around the world with Black Market Militia and also R.A. The Rugged Man. “It was good! R.A. is probably the nicest to me. He is the nicest white dude ever. He’s cool when he rhymes. He’s nice as hell, man. I give it to him. R.A. is nice. [Black Market Militia] is family like that. Doing a song is just like having a song because half of the Sunz is me and Razah,” Priest babbles. “The other half is Prodigal and is 60 [Sec Assassin]. Timbo has always been there. I know Timbo from way back. We like having fun there. Timbo, me and Razah was there. Tragedy didn’t come, but it was all good.”
Imagine this plot: MF DOOM hits The Priest up on the celly and wants to collaborate on a full project. Would there be a ‘The Priest and The Mask’ project in the future? ”Definitely! MF Doom is dope. I think he can put the mask on, I can take it off, haha. We can both wear masks! We can do that.”
My new name is Work. When you see Priest, you should just say 'what up Work!'
- Killah Priest on his 'work ethic'.
Imagine this next plot: Ashlee Simpson hits you on the celly and wants you to appear on the remix of her newest single. Would there be a ‘Boyfriend remix featuring Killah Priest’ in the future? “Of course there would be a song with Ashlee Simpson. Ashlee comes to the Priest. Ashlee can get it!”
Get ‘The Priest Offering’. It’s tighter than being tight. Come get it.
