Free:Tell us a little about Graveyard Shifters history?
peace fam...yea,well my history has always been one dimensional, all hip hop..graveyard shifter started rapping at the age of 14 in the 90s as master crush,at the time i was a part of a crew called the last tribezmen,we had an independent album out which kinda got alotta good reviews around our city,we did a few radio freestyles and had some newspaper coverage but due to certain obligations, some members split,i then joined a crew called the professors aka kings of the valley who im still affiliated with and keep in contact with,at the time,i had a basic rhyme style and most of what i did was on the freestyle tip but as time went on,i decided i had to find my own flavor,my own style to this rap thing so i devised a special flow called the "tombstone rap" which is basically an accent flow with many lyrical dymanics mixed in a 16 bars verse curvin with the beat and so thats just been that since...a logic behind tombstone raps means that im laying a tombstone on all other styles in the game, something different and unique

Why the name Graveyard Shifter?
the Name was given to me by one of my affiliates by the name of madloc..he was a mad freestyler who had battled and basically murdered anyone he came in contact with lyrically..basically,after a battle one night at some cemetary location which was a dare by some friends,he named me that because he claimed my style is like graveyards, its mad underground like 6 foot graves, the shifter was added in to complete the whole dimension of the name, this was around the time i devised the tombstone rap flow

Whos your biggest inspiration?
RZA
Free:
Any reasons why?
the man reminds me off myself in many ways,if u read his history, you will realise that he paid mad dues to be in this game...especially the part about him spending like 3 years in his basement making beats and stuff,im basically on the same page right now,i spent most of my time producing, writing and trying to make music,if its not that,im either writing scripts, drawing comics or working on my book called "Love murdered the gangster" ,but yea..what also inspires me about the Rza is that he broke mad boundaries with his music,he came thru with the wu at a time when the whole g -funk thing was big but he wasnt scared to introduce something new, something fresh for the masses and they loved it,this is the same kind of stuff im on,i believe in one being their selves and bringing originality to the table regardless of the obstacles you might face trying to break thru with what you got...finally,the man's a killer producer

If you could produce a song for who ever you wanted, who?
good question, and thats a hard one..could i name 3?? cause i got mad ideas on this one
1st person would have to be Killa sin of Killarmy, reason being that the kid has a style thats very fresh and unothodox,infact..ive studied his rhyme scheme and way of delivery on wax,he the type of cat that wont disapoint you lyrically on any beat..he is a versetyle type mc with alotta rage and steam to blow out on tracks and thats some dope nuts
2nd would be-Kool g rap..he is one of the legends of the game i came up listening too and having mad respect for, infact let me put it like this,if i do get a chance,he is definately one of the top guys on my list id love to work with and make some classics with..his multi sylabullar flow style really damages tracks at an instant..he is a nasty rapper
3rd-Jill scott or Erykah badu-that would be a challenge as their sound is mad different from what i usually work with but that would give me a chance to test my production abilities and see how far and versetyle i can go with my sound and nuts, besides that, they are my favourite soul singers in the game right now so it would be great working with em
honorable mentions, inspector deck(fat shouts outs to deck yo,keep the bangers coming},nas and lil fame of MOP

If I find one album with Graveyard shifter on it,what type of rap could I expect to listen?
everything and anything, thats the beauty about my style and my raps, they are unpredictable, its like you never know what id bring to the table next, just keep one thing in mind,i try as much as possible to be original and bring something fresh, like ive said to many supporters of mine who ask me about my stuff,im not trying to be like any other rapper in the game,im not tryna be a 50cent or a dipset or a wutang clan,im tryna be graveyard shifter,so if you ever listen to my stuff..expect nothing less than graveyard shifter bringing his whole potential to the table
